Introduction

The Kerala State IT Mission envisages to conduct a series of workshops for State Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and other autonomous institutions on the e-Governance activities that are being carried out in Kerala. It is planned to carryout these workshop with the active support of the Industries Department, Government of Kerala. The broad idea is to conduct a one-day workshop for middle and senior level executives of the state PSUs and other autonomous institutions. The workshop shall focus on e-Gov trends and practices and the main thrust of the workshop is to create awareness regarding e-Gov initiatives in the State and how these can be meaningfully used by the PSUs and other autonomous institutions.

Conduct of the workshop

KSITM will take the lead role in organizing the workshop in association with the Industries Department, Government of Kerala, RIAB,CDAC and CDIT. Since CDAC, NIC and SPACE are involved in almost all e-governance initiatives, the workshop shall be conducted with the participation of them. The participants shall be provided with a brochure kit containing the write-ups of the above said e-governance activities.

The number of participants in workshop will be 60. Total number of PSUs/Autonomous Institutions presented listed for participation is 56 and assuming that two personnel will participate from each institution, then the total number of participants will be 112.

The seminar series on 'Electronic Governance Approches for Enterprises' was inaugurated by Shri.Elamaram Kareem,Hon'ble Minister for Industries & Commerce in Thiruvananthapuram on 6th July 2009. Shri,John Mathai IAS(Rtd), chairman (RIAB), Dr.Ajay Kumar IAS,Secretary(IT Department),Shri K.S Srinivas IAS,Additional Secretary(Industries-Investment Promotion),Shri.K.Padmakumar,Secretary(RIAB) addressed the Chief Executive Officers from PSUs.Dr.Rethan Kelkar IAS, Kerala State IT Mission welcomed the gathering and Shri K.T.Balabhaskaran ,Registrar CDIT delivered Vote of Thanks.
