As part of promoting FOSS in Kerala, KSITM has been conducting training programmes on the same for Government Employees, piloting with Government Secretariat employees.The first and second batch of training was successfully completed to 281 Secretariat officials of different cadres and certificate for them was distributed. Training is provided in areas including Open Office, Internet and Email, Advanced Training in Linux OS, Malayalam Computing and Joomla Content Management Framework by FOSS experts.

Futhering its efforts in training employees, a five-day FOSS training was successfully completed for 60 employees of Police Department on 08/02/2010 at Police Training College, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram. Other than the above mentioned components, the training for the Police Department also includes Maintenance and Troubleshooting in Hardware and Software.

In continuation with the propagation of FOSS programme, Kerala State IT Mission was completed the training on FOSS for the master trainers in Land Revenue Commissionerate, Trivandrum.

As part of promoting FOSS in Kerala, KSITM was begun the training programmes to selected Akshaya master trainers at CATFOSS, Kochi.
